To cope with the booming of cultural and creative industries in the global market and to cultivate the researching talents for local culture, Graduate Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (GICCI) was established in 2010. We aim to provide a R&D platform for those scholars who are highly interested in the creative economy.

Educational Program

Two-year graduate program of Master of Arts are offered.


There are 7 full-time faculty members in the institute. They all own doctoral degrees, and their expertise includes Hakka culture and literature, cultural and creative industries, lifestyle industry, legal studies, statistics & analysis, geographic information system, rural tourism planning, cultural economics, marketing management, etc.

Special Features

The Department is striving to connect the tourism policies of Pingtung County Government with the local cultural activities, natural ecosystems, crafts and design, music, museums, galleries, and libraries, etc. In addition, our professionals are eager to integrate their research topics with the local resources in order to develop and promote innovative lifestyle business that is specific in Pingtung area.


Besides the local culture, the curriculums of GICCI also emphasize on marketing, business operations, legal policies and information analysis related to creative economy. Concerning the long-term development, GICCI will strengthen international connection by exchange researchers with overseas brother schools.
